Repercussions and Semblance

Corrie Gregory, Repercussions,
Mixed Media 13x10.75

If you are going to be in the Bakersfield area, on Friday June 1st, please check out the 1st Friday event in downtown Bakersfield. Galleries, Restaurants, Music, good fun and view some of my new work at Metro Gallery - I'm included in a super cool show called Semblance.(more info below) Repercussions will be included in the show.

Its always interesting to see process and since a very nice person moved the scanner down from the high shelf so i could actually  use it) and I know have an Iphone (yes I have become one of them)  I have been documenting studio happenings: Follow me @ Instagram: corrieeg. Repercussions like lot's of my work it all starts with a central being that has been floating around my brain for a while. I do a lot drawings and I'll start a painting and then put it away for the future - sometimes things need to hibernate. In this instance the bunny girl below had been around for a while and when I unpacked a box there she was. This was done with oil and I will probably revisit her in the future but for now she evolved into a bear and became more simplified.  You can see the transition below. I'm not quite done with her yet she has some work to do.
